FAQ

About JR Spas

JR Spas was established in 2004 when the Vita Spa factory store in Arlington, TX closed. Their lead service technician was given all the company files and parts inventory by Vita Spa so that he could maintain service for all of the Vita Spa customers. This company was purchased in September 2009 by the current owner.

Yes. JR Spas is a family-owned business that has served Granbury and North Texas for over 20 years. When you shop with us, you’re working directly with a local team, not a chain or a pop-up dealer.

Although JR Spas has ex-military employees, the current owner is not a veteran.

JR Spas is located at 4500 Fall Creek Highway, Granbury, Texas 76049, just north of Lake Granbury, near the Acton Nature Center. We’re the local hot tub and swim spa showroom for Granbury, Fort Worth, Weatherford, and surrounding North Texas communities.

We’re open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and closed Sunday and Monday. Call ahead at 817-579-7727 to check current inventory or schedule a private wet test.

JR Spas sells new and used hot tubs, swim spas, and above-ground swimming pools, plus accessories (spa covers, cover lifters, steps, handrails) and water care products (chemicals, filters, and testing kits). If we don’t have a product in stock, we can special order it by request.

Three things: we’re the only local Vita Spa dealer in the Granbury area, the only licensed electrical contractor among Granbury’s hot tub dealers (TECL 27589), and we offer private wet tests so you can try a spa before you buy. Everything (delivery, installation, electrical, maintenance, and repair) is handled in-house by our own team, so you never juggle multiple contractors.

Yes. Our showroom at 4500 Fall Creek Highway in Granbury features a comprehensive collection of hot tubs and accessories you can see in person. We also sell swim spas and above ground pools. Open Tuesday through Saturday.

JR Spas has served Granbury and the greater North Texas area for over 20 years.

Vita Spa, one of the brands JR Spas sells, has been featured on World’s Greatest! TV. JR Spas has been on the Joe Bielinski show on Hank FM as well as in the news for our support and sponsorship of the Granbury Visitors Bureau annual Goose Bump Jump. JR Spas has won the Best of Hood County award for the Hot Tub and Spa dealer since the category’s inception several years ago.

Yes, you’ll find verified Google reviews throughout our website and on our Google Business Profile, covering everything from showroom experience to delivery, installation, and repair service.

Yes. Depending on the age, make, model, and condition, we offer trade-ins.

Our team will walk you through it: space, seating capacity, features, energy efficiency, and budget. Visit the showroom for a hands-on comparison, and schedule a private wet test to experience a hot tub before you commit.

It helps to know your available space (rough dimensions), where the spa will sit (deck, patio, or pad), your electrical setup, and how many people will typically use it. Photos of your backyard are great, since our team may be able to spot placement and site-prep needs early.

In-stock models are ready for delivery, often within days. Special orders take longer depending on the manufacturer, so call to check current availability and lead times.

We accept cash (US currency), credit cards (most), debit cards (most), cashiers checks (US banks), and personal checks (local). Sorry, we no longer accept Euros, Bitcoin, or precious metals.

Private Wet Tests

A wet test lets you get in a filled, running hot tub before you buy it, testing the jets, seating, and comfort in person. At JR Spas, wet tests are private: we provide privacy partitions so you can suit up, soak, and wind down comfortably.

Yes. Private wet tests are one of the things that sets JR Spas apart. Unlike most dealers, we give you a private, no-pressure way to experience a spa in a real-world setting before making your decision.

Call us at 817-579-7727 to schedule. We’ll confirm which model is set up for testing and reserve your time.

Just your swimsuit and a towel. Our privacy partitions give you a comfortable place to change before and after your soak.

No. Private wet tests are completely free, no obligation, no pressure. Just call ahead of time to set up your soak.

Wet tests are limited to the specific model currently set up and filled on our showroom floor. Call ahead to find out which spa is available for testing.

No. Wet tests are available on specific new showroom models only. We can’t schedule wet tests on pre-owned spas, but every used hot tub we sell has been fully inspected and repaired by our in-house team.

Seat depth, jet placement, and lounger fit feel different for everybody, and it can be hard to judge from a dry shell. A wet test is a good way to know how a spa truly feels and functions before you invest.

Financing

Yes. JR Spas offers financing through First Financial Bank and Finwise Bank, and you can get pre-approved online before you visit the showroom, or within minutes in the showroom.

We partner with First Financial Bank and Finwise for spa financing. Start your pre-approval application online, or ask our team about financing when you call or visit, we’re happy to walk you through it.

Apply online through First Financial Bank’s pre-approval application, or you can apply in the showroom and be approved in minutes.

Approval and terms are determined by our lenders based on your application. The pre-approval process is quick, so you’ll know where you stand before you shop.

In most cases, yes, there is. But not always. It just depends on the borrower and lender.

Absolutely. Any product or service we sell can be financed as long as it meets the minimum amount specified by the lenders.

Monthly payments depend on the model, your approved terms, and your down payment. Get pre-approved through First Financial Bank, then visit the showroom and we’ll help you find a spa that fits your budget.

Warranties & Support

Yes, the new hot tubs, swim spas, and pools we carry include manufacturer warranties, and our team supports you throughout your spa’s lifetime.

Hot tub warranties generally cover the shell, surface, plumbing, and equipment (pumps, heaters, controls) for varying terms depending on the brand and model. Ask our team for the specific warranty details on any spa you’re considering.

Warranties vary too much by manufacturer, model, or product to go into here, but generally speaking, hot tub warranties are 3 to 5 years on parts and labor for most major components and longer or shorter for other components.

Every pre-owned spa is thoroughly inspected, electrically tested, and repaired by our in-house team before sale. We offer a 30 day warranty on our pre-owned hot tubs. This is so that we both know that it was functioning and not leaking upon delivery to you. On rare occasions certain components are not covered under that warranty due to varying reasons like discontinued components or other reasons.

JR Spas handles service in-house. As a premier hot tub service center for North Texas with our own trained technicians and licensed electricians, we take care of repairs locally rather than routing you through a distant manufacturer process.

Call us at 817-579-7727 to schedule a service appointment. Our in-house technicians service the spas we sell and just about every other brand, too.

Yes. From delivery-day orientation to ongoing maintenance, repairs, parts, and water care, JR Spas supports you for the life of your spa. Our customers regularly tell us the post-purchase service is why they keep coming back.

None of our brands currently offer onboard salt generators for specific reasons. We can install aftermarket units, which we wouldn’t recommend. Or a salt water system can be done with regular chemicals, which is the best way. See our store for more details.

Swim Spas

JR Spas carries Vita Spa swim spas, including the Vita xStreamâ„¢ series designed for aerobic training, toning, and year-round recreation.

The Vita xStreamâ„¢ is Vita Spa’s swim spa series, built for fitness and recreation with adjustable swim jets that let swimmers of all ages and abilities set their own pace and intensity, plus ergonomic seating and hydrotherapy options.

A hot tub is built for soaking and hydrotherapy; a swim spa is longer and adds a powerful current system so you can swim in place, exercise, and relax in one unit. Swim spas run at more moderate temperatures and work year-round for both fitness and recreation.

Swim spas typically range from $20,000 to $60,000+, depending on size, brand, and features. JR Spas offers transparent pricing and financing options, contact us for a quote on current models.

For many homeowners, yes. Swim spas stay warm year-round, extending your swim season well past what a traditional pool allows, in a smaller footprint, with easier maintenance and no in-ground construction.

Absolutely. Because swim spas are heated, you can swim, exercise, and relax through North Texas winters, one of the biggest advantages over a traditional pool.

Swim spas deliver a customizable, low-impact workout that improves cardiovascular health, muscle strength, and joint flexibility, while the hydrotherapy features ease stress and support recovery.

Yes, we provide full swim spa delivery and installation, including professional electrical work by our staff, plus removal, maintenance, winterization, and repair services.

Above-Ground Pools

JR Spas sells Doughboy and Embassy above-ground pools, two of the most trusted names in the industry, known for durability and easier installation than in-ground construction.

Yes, we’re a Doughboy pool dealer. Doughboy pools are durable, flexible, and can even be installed partially in-ground.

Yes, we carry Embassy above-ground pools. Visit the showroom or contact us to explore current models.

Above-ground pools usually range from $3,500 to $10,000+, depending on size and installation. We provide custom quotes based on your backyard and needs.

Yes, we service pool equipment and offer pool maintenance, and our water care experts can help keep your pool clean, balanced, and safe.

Delivery & Installation

Generally, on new hot tubs, white glove delivery is the only way we do it. This includes delivery to your home, installation of cover removal system, electrical connection, filling, testing, initial chemical dosing, and owner instruction. However, it is simply our goal to accommodate the customer, so we have made delivery under many different scenarios before.

If you buy a new hot tub from us, standard delivery is included at no cost. Non-standard deliveries may result in additional charges. However, our standard delivery fee for a pre-owned hot tub purchased through us would start at $350 and would depend on customer delivery conditions and size of hot tub purchased.

In-stock models are ready for installation, no waiting weeks. Many customers have their spa delivered within days of purchase. Special orders vary by manufacturer.

We offer all aspects of delivery service in-house. Delivery, placement, electrical hookup by our licensed electrical staff (TECL 27589), fill-up, installation of accessories, starter chemicals, and an orientation so you know how to run and care for your new spa. We also handle site preparation, including concrete work, so you’re not coordinating multiple contractors. Exact cost for services outside of our standard delivery will vary by customer needs.

A clear delivery path (gates, corners, overhead obstacles), a level load-bearing surface, and access to a dedicated electrical circuit. Don’t worry, our team walks you through all of it before delivery day, and we can handle site prep and electrical ourselves.

A level, load-bearing surface, most commonly a reinforced concrete pad. A full hot tub weighs thousands of pounds. Grass is not sufficient. Gravel or pavers can be used. There are also composite or plastic hot tub pads that can be purchased.

A reinforced concrete pad is the gold standard: level, permanent, and built for the load. Some structurally rated decks and pads also work, our team will assess your site and recommend the right foundation. If you need a pad, we can handle the concrete work as part of your installation.

Most full-size hot tubs require a dedicated 50 amp, 240V circuit with GFCI protection, installed to code by a licensed electrician. JR Spas is a licensed electrical contractor (TECL 27589), so your electrical hookup is typically part of our installation, no third-party electrician needed.

Yes, and that’s rare. JR Spas is the only licensed electrical contractor among Granbury’s hot tub dealers (TECL 27589). Our own electricians can install GFCI-protected circuits and complete your hookup as part of your installation.

No. Delivery, installation, electrical, maintenance, and repair are all handled in-house by JR Spas’ own licensed electricians and trained service technicians, saving you time, money, and the hassle of juggling contractors.

Often, yes, if the deck is structurally rated for the weight of a filled spa (which can exceed 3,000 to 6,000 pounds). Our team can evaluate your deck, reinforce your deck, and even build custom decks and pergolas designed to support and showcase your spa.

Yes, our installation team provides a walkthrough after fill-up so you know how to operate, maintain, and enjoy your new spa from day one.

Hardscaping & Site Preparation

Yes, JR Spas can manage concrete pad work as part of your installation, so your spa sits on a level, secure foundation without you hiring a separate contractor.

Placement preparation gets your site spa-ready: a level, load-bearing foundation, a clear delivery path, and code-compliant electrical. If your backyard doesn’t have those yet, you need site prep, and JR Spas handles every detail of it.

Most hot tubs need a reinforced concrete pad at least 3.5 to 4 inches thick; swim spas, which are significantly heavier, typically require a thicker engineered pad. Our team will spec the right foundation for your exact model.

Yes. Our licensed electricians install GFCI-protected outlets and dedicated spa circuits to code, it’s a part of the installation services we offer.

Yes, JR Spas is a licensed electrical contractor (TECL 27589), the only one among Granbury’s hot tub dealers. All electrical work is performed by our own licensed team.

No. JR Spas can manage every detail in-house, electrical, site preparation, concrete work, even custom decks and pergolas, so you get a seamless installation without juggling multiple contractors.

Yes. Swim spas are heavier and larger than hot tubs, so proper site prep matters even more. We handle the foundation, access planning, and electrical for a complete swim spa installation.

It varies. Sometimes it’s as simple as cutting a few tree branches, and sometimes it can be complex, like installing cribbing and shoring for getting a hot tub over large retaining walls, up large hills, etc.

Hot Tub Moving

Yes, JR Spas offers a professional hot tub moving service throughout North Texas. Whether you’re relocating to a new home, renovating your backyard, or buying a spa from a private seller, our experienced crew moves it safely with the right equipment.

Cost depends on distance, access (stairs, slopes, tight gates), and whether reinstallation is included. It’s a fraction of what a cracked shell or damaged plumbing costs to repair. Contact JR Spas for a quote on your specific move.

Most won’t. Hot tubs weigh 500 to 900 pounds empty, are awkward to maneuver, and carry a high risk of shell and plumbing damage, more liability than standard movers will accept. A dedicated hot tub moving company is the recommended route.

Yes, we move hot tubs regardless of where you bought them, including private-party purchases.

We provide hot tub moving throughout the greater North Texas area from our Granbury location. Contact us to confirm we serve your area.

Yes, and this is where we’re different. Our licensed electricians can install the GFCI-protected circuit at your new home, and we can prepare the pad your spa sits on, so one call covers the entire move from disconnect to first soak.

The spa must be completely drained, including the plumbing lines, before moving. Ask about draining when you schedule your move.

Yes. Our in-house technicians provide full-service hot tub repair, pumps, heaters, leaks, electronics, and more, throughout North Texas.

Just about all of them. Our experienced technicians are trained to service and repair virtually any spa brand and model, not only the brands we sell.
